Thank you for this wonderful Advent message. As one who has struggled in life for a desire to “matter”, it really speaks to my soul. It brings to mind this warning from Jesus:
“Woe to you, when all people speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets. Luke 6:26
Such a good word. Thanks, Kaeley. As someone also settling into middle age, also longing to matter, and also feeling the unintended consequences of well-intentioned choices made years ago, this was a much-needed reminder.
Thanks for hitting my imagination in a fresh way, Kaeley, with a reminder of who is—and is NOT—depicted in every manger scene for millions—or billions—around the world to see and celebrate: the lowly shepherds. Even when the magi are (incorrectly) included in the scene, we're reminded that they were uninvited foreigners, forced to sneak out of town before Herod's officers could catch up with them. Thanks again for another excellent post.
This made me cry. Thank you.
Me too. Thanks, KTH.
Me, too.

Beautifully written my friend.
Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder and God's got his eye on you.
Thank you for this very timely reminder.
'...content to fill a little space, if Thou be glorified.'
Thank you.
