As masterful and compassionate an article as I have read regarding homosexuality, Pride and a Christian's role in it. You write with the vision of the King's calling and a humility borne of deep gratitude--not to mention a great amount of skill. I'll be sharing this with my pastors.

One thing I’d like to share with you, as a non-heterosexual woman who is choosing to follow our shared Christian sexual ethic: Homosexuals *fall in love* with members of the same sex. It isn’t simply about sexual desire, and the wish to share one’s life with a member of the same sex isn’t about “shacking up.”

I don’t have an easy answer to this, myself - and I find (after returning to the church after decades away) that no one else has one, either. I don’t classify same-sex sexual activity in the same file as the desire to steal or murder (many people do) but I also don’t call it less of a sin.

It’s a very, very hard place to balance - especially when I’m trying to share the Gospel with others and live it out myself. We are called to holiness and that is clear, but I find few people really understand the struggle unless they’re having to get up and engage in it in the daily.
