As Communications Director for a group of YMCAs in western WA, one of my many duties was to write speeches, talking points, and articles on behalf of our CEO, a man not-so-affectionately nicknamed “Bob the Builder” by his subordinates.
You sound very much like TRAs demanding all of society change to suit their agenda. There is no way for a thinking woman to be happy within the architecture of Abrahamic religions. Find a community elsewhere & leave that bastion of misogyny.
I can assure you that insulting me and then comparing me to a TRA is probably just about the least effective way to change my mind about anything.
If you want to hate religions, that's certainly your prerogative, but don't force your belief system on me, please. My faith is liberating. Jesus was revolutionary in His regard for women. I won't apologize for saying so.
Not trying to insult you. Not trying to force my beliefs on you (atheism is a rejection of religious assertions, not a belief). The way you (correctly) write about all the ills of today’s religious practices doesn’t sound liberating. It sounds (correctly) like a major source of continuous consternation for you. Fear & control are the necessary foundations for religion to “work”. It’s a losing battle to try to change them. Based on demonstrable evidence, I believe you would be happier and liberated if you left it in the dust. You can still appreciate the concepts and images and representations of all the characters and lessons contained in the “holy” books. Just without all the supernatural stuff and fear.
I feel safest when my ideas are anchored to truth, regardless of who it implicates. Jesus is truth. I’ll stick with Him. Thank you for your concern, though.
Great thoughts and very well articulated. Thanks for writing.

You were a human teleprompter. LOL
