Excellent article. I was worried that you wouldn't have an answer. The answer is and always has been the person of Jesus Christ. 2nd Corinthians 11:3 "But i fear lest by any means as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."
The missing ingredient in so much of the fighting is Humility. Philippians 2 makes it clear that the humble mind is the essential result of receiving grace. So does Romans 12:3
Love this! Pretty sure the author was reading my mind. 😂 Literally word for word much of my thought processes over the years. I come back to, "Trust the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." It's about Jesus and trusting Him. It's okay if I don't understand everything. Feeling the need to perfectly explain everything and choose a camp or "ism" became a trap!
Where is God in all of this? "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." As one priest friend of mine put it, the Eucharist is the knife that cuts through all the baloney.
The many scandals in every church are echos of the scandal of the Incarnation.
T. H. I. S. Every word resonates with my own thought processes. Thank you for putting pen to paper and articulating some really important things !

As someone who senses falsity in professing Christians very often, I resonate with parts of your story, especially your feeling of loneliness. .
