I’ve never been sexually abused (which, sadly, makes me kind of an outlier in my age/sex/life experience cohort). So one thing I love about my church is the absolute no-tolerance/total accountability of church pastors, leaders,staff - and husbands in the congregation. I think our pastor reminds us of that nearly every week.
Women in our church are encouraged to report. Any abuse would be, so far as I can tell, addressed properly and immediately (which would mean supporting the survivor and notifying law enforcement - not blaming the victim, minimizing the offense or keeping the consequences “in-house.”
